Table of Contents
Marvel Snap’s contents of the Spotlight Caches for the Gorr Season (starting November 5, 2024) has been revealed! Each week, three cards will be featured in the Spotlight Caches, and their corresponding Spotlight Variants if you have already collected the card. We recommend that you carefully choose the cards you want, and save up at least four Spotlight Caches to open to get your desired card. So take a look at the Spotlight Cache card release schedule below, and plan ahead!

Welcome to week 1 of the new season! To kick us off, we have Frigga! This card is an interesting combo tool, but that seems about it. At 3-Cost, you are heavily limited on your options. And since she simply puts a copy of a card in your hand, you have to play that card again for it’s full Cost. I’m not saying the card bad, but it isn’t as clear cut of a winner as other cards in this month’s collection.
Copycat and Red Guardian return to this week’s cache! Red Guardian is a very strong control tool that offers a solid stat line (3/5) with some great interaction with some of the game’s best cards. Copycat is also a great card, but has fallen out of favor after her nerf to “copy” effects instead of stealing. Even still, the card can provide you both solid information to Snap on and potentially strong abilities. All in all not a bad week!

For new card number 2, we get Malekith! When I read this ability, I immediately think about one thing: deck thinning. If your gameplan revolves heavily around drawing your big card by turn 6, Malekith can quietly pull a small card out of your deck so that you’re more likely to draw your big card correctly. He also could work well to pull small, late game cards like Hazmat, Sage, or U.S. Agent for big Power swings! If Malekith finds a worthy deck that wants this ability over Jubilee, he could easily become a must have card.
Joining Malekith is the return of Thena and Valentina! These cards may sound similar in name, but they are polar opposites in terms of strength. Thena has proven to be quite effective at providing crazy Power consistently. Valentina, on the other hand, never found a home to give her ability it’s true value. Overall a solid week!

This week has what might be the best new card we have seen in months. Fenris Wolf allows you to revive a discarded or destroyed card of your opponent’s. The biggest factor of this card is being an Activate. You can drop this early game and wait for the perfect time to use it. The mere sight of this card on the board can make your opponent constantly worry about getting their cards destroyed or discarded. Speaking of, you can use cards like Shang-Chi, Gladiator, Silver Samurai, and Black Bolt to mess with your opponent’s stuff and give it to yourself for free. Since it’s Activate, you can even wait until you see the results before choosing to activate (in case it’s a bad target like Mister Negative or The Hood. Fenris Wolf is very exciting!
Supporting Fenris Wolf is the return of Annihilus and Werewolf By Night! These two cards used to be the highlights of their season, but have since fallen from grace. Annihilus doesn’t see much play due to the prevalence of bounce and the decline of Junk decks. Werewolf is a great tool for bounce decks, but often sees less play because

Closing out the week is the god butcher himself, Gorr! This card feels like the Knull of On Reveals. You probably won’t use it in a classic On Reveal deck, but there are other exciting applications like Mister Negative to invert him, Agent Venom to remove his -1 Power, or as a huge finisher for bounce decks. The key piece of information to keep in mind here is Gorr scales with BOTH players On Reveals. So if your opponent is going crazy with On Reveals, your Gorr becomes unstoppable.
And bringing the month to a close is the return of Legion and Havok! Legion is a must have control tool to manipulate the board in your favorite. He sees the most play in Sera Control and Arishem. Havok has always been a bit of a meme card. The decks he has been attempted in have never really been meta. His worst enemy, Shadow King, is also very common right now, making this card more harmful than helpful. Despite that, 2 out of 3 cards look great, making for a solid closing week!
