Not only are Shou-Lao the Undying and Lockheed posting good numbers, they also share a few archetypes. As such, this first week of the season should be an easy one when it comes to completing weekend missions.
Overall, Lockheed isn’t a must own although it is sporting solid numbers. The card is a good addition you can play in most flexible decks also able to fit Kitty Pryde as well, but all those builds would function properly without Lockheed in the mix.
The card becomes very important however, if you are looking to lower the power of specific cards. At the moment, Maverick, Lasher and Scarlet Spider are seeing play, as they represent fantastic targets to buff with Shou-Lao the Undying. In that context, Lockheed is a valuable asset to reduce the impact of those cards your opponent is building around.
Shou-Lao the Undying has more of a global impact, and looks like a powerhouse at the moment. The card quickly became a new staple in decks able to play two cards per turn, while enticing some of those to include targets for the buffs.
As we mentioned already, Maverick, Scarlet Spider or Lasher are seeing more play, often included in flexible decks alongside the new season pass card. However, the card also sees play alongside Werewolf By Night as a standalone inclusion, simply because a 5-cost with 14 to 17 power attached is too good to pass.
| Mission | # | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Win a Location with 20 or More Power | 20 | 150 Credits |
| Win with Lockheed starting in your Deck | 4 | 200 Collector’s Tokens |
| Win with Shou-Lao the Undying starting in your Deck | 8 | 150 Gold |
Lockheed

Lockheed is posting solid results across the board, featured in a few different archetypes all sporting solid win and cube ratios. Due to its ability, Lockheed is only seeing play alongside a specific play style, with all its best decks featuring Kitty Pryde, Scarlet Spider and Shou Lao.
These four form a nice package, with Kitty Pryde and Lockheed early, while we attempt to buff Scarlet Spider with Shou Lao later on.
This group is often used alongside Angela, Thena and such cards rewarding you to play multiple flexible cards per turn. However, Lockheed, Kitty Pryde and Shou Lao also see play in the Zombie Horde deck, another archetype eager to play multiple cards per turn.
If we dig a little, we can also find Lockheed in the End of Turn archetype, with Kitty Pryde replacing the usual Spider-Ham or Sunspot.
Bots are still a large part of the equation, so the results will likely evolve for the worse in the future. However, all these play style were solid in the past, so it is no surprise to see Lockheed post good numbers when included in these decks.

Shou Lao Performance

Bots are helping in the first week of the season, but that is true for every card. As such, even if the numbers are inflated, Shou-Lao the Undying looks like an elite card at the moment.
It is featured in most archetypes able to play multiple cards per turn, such as Small Buffed Cards (Name in progress), Zombie On Reveal, or Good On Reveal Cards.
We discussed Lockheed before, mentioning both cards share the spotlight in a group they form with Scarlet Spider and Kitty Pryde. Shou-Lao the Undying is also part of other archetypes, and looks like the more important card of the two so far. Indeed, the best Zombie Horde build runs the season pass card without Lockheed, while the dragon also sees play in more archetypes.
Most previous season pass cards were specialists, with Weapon X Wolverine, Viv Vision or Spider-Punk all attached to a synergy. Shou-Lao the Undying appears to be more versatile, and fit any deck, as long as it can play two cards per turn.
Plus, this one doesn’t have to be played at a specific timing, as long as you draw it by turn six.

Bonus Challenge Decks
Here are the best performing decks with Shou-Lao the Undying or Lockheed included. Most decks with the season pass card included have a build with Lockheed if you wanted to knock both missions at once. However, Lockheed might not be part of the best build for that archetype, hence why I didn’t include it in the feature list.
Lockheed could replace Mobius M. Mobius in this Zombie build.
