It seems like Second Dinner has prepared something very unusual. A bundle with no variants, at a high cost, and with a bunch of Credits? Let’s analyze what’s what and whether it’s worth spending 5,000 Gold right now.
As I mentioned in one of my previous articles, the focus is gradually shifting from bundles with Collector’s Tokens to bundles with Credits, and it’s quite possible that these phases will alternate. Right now, there’s a queue for a large and fairly profitable bundle with Credits, so those chasing Splits are welcome. The Progress Value of 128% and the bonus Borders on top make this an excellent deal for you.
It’s quite clear that most players (according to surveys) want to see Collector’s Tokens to have a better influence on the cards they receive. For them, the bundle is obviously a skip too.
And those who want a lot of value in each Gold will also have to wait. For these players, the time will come, as according to unconfirmed information, in the next 2 months we can expect bundles featuring Series 5 cards like Fenris Wolf, Luna Snow, Sersi, and Diamondback for the same price of 5,000 Gold and a Progress Value of over 120% on top!
So, despite the good numbers, keep in mind that a mountain of Credits might not be suitable for you right now.
Comparison With Other Bundles
If we start comparing the bundle with past competitors, things look pretty good.
In terms of Progress Value, both overall among bundles for Gold in the last year and within its price category over all time, the Border Bundle only falls short against a couple of bundles – High Stakes from a completely different era of bundles and the recent The One Who Knocks.
If we look at the value of Credits for Gold, the bundle is definitely among the leaders even when considering bundles from all time. Bundles with a good value of Credits for Gold have been so rare that a value of 1.6 is a rarity and a real event in Marvel Snap…
This is what I would say if it weren’t for the recent and sudden improvement in the Booster Pack bundles! It seems they now offer not only a lot of Boosters but also a lot of Credits at a great price!
1.67 Credits per Gold and 133% Progress Value is no joke. So if everything stays the same in future Booster Pack bundles, regularly purchasing them provides a lot of value over time. So if you don’t have much Gold and are afraid of missing an important bundle, gradually buying the Booster Pack bundles is a great strategy that doesn’t require such a large expense as 5,000 Gold here.
In terms of the number of new cards for Gold among named bundles over the past year, everything is generally good, and it ranks second right after the The One Who Knocks bundle.
Conclusion
So, we have a not-so-obvious case here. On one hand, the bundle looks good in terms of numbers right now.
But on the other hand, we got excellent Booster Pack bundles that effectively fill the niche of profitable bundles with Credits. Also, unlike the potentially upcoming bundles with Series 5 cards at the value level of the Don’t Stop the Healing bundle, there isn’t an additional source of value in the form of a Series 5 card variant here.
So, before the era of insane bundles begins (as it looks right now), I’m pulling the trigger and instead of the 4.5-5 stars I would’ve given a month ago, I’m giving it strong 4 stars.
At this price, considering the potentially upcoming bundles of the level of Don’t Stop the Healing, I can’t just recommend everyone to spend 5,000 Gold. However, the Border Bundle is still very solid, and as expected from 4-star bundles, it will definitely find its buyers, who need more Credits (like me!).
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Border Bundle page! Below is a detailed guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
