As is usual during the first week of the season, the new Season Pass card Sam Wilson Captain America grabbed most of the attention. It also doesn’t help when the other new card isn’t that strong, which seems to be the case for Joaquin torres falcon II.

Joaquin Torres Falcon II Performance

The numbers aren’t bad for Joaquin torres falcon II, but the card isn’t doing great compared to the rest of the field. Indeed, whether you look at the 215th place in our tracker or the D ranking on Untapped, you can’t help but think the 0.45 Cube Average has bots written all over it.
From what I saw when playing against it, the main issue with this card is how predictable it is compared to the rewards it carries. If your opponent can easily anticipate your next move, your Snaps lose a lot of strength because it is simple to figure out whether it is best for them to stay or leave. Also, those cards need to be very strong so you can Snap early, but then you’ll end up winning one cube from scared opponents a lot of the time.
Unfortunately, Joaquin torres falcon II doesn’t appear to be strong enough to scare many opponents away while it gives a fair bit of information about your upcoming turns.

Sam Wilson Captain America Performance

On the other hand, the numbers for Sam Wilson Captain America are great, ranking close to the top 10% of cards in Marvel Snap. This is even more impressive when the meta share represents a large part of the meta since that tends to drive the numbers towards a balanced 50% Win Rate.
One thing to note, though, is the card not cracking the A tier on Untapped. This means the new Season Pass card doesn’t quite compare to the very best cards in the game. This could beg the question of the impact of bots in this early performance. Indeed, Season Pass cards tend to be played a lot during the first week of the season, which coincides with the time when bots are the most present in the statistics.
This first look tells us that the card is definitely playable, but you might want to wait for the second week of the season to form a definite opinion on where Sam Wilson Captain America stands among the competition.

Bonus Challenge Decks
Sam Wilson Captain America has emerged as a good enough card to be played as a standalone 2-Cost. There are a few builds based around the card, but most of the best performing archetypes are ones we already knew about that just added Sam Wilson Captain America to the list.
So far, the Scream Move archetype has proven to be the best home for the card, and it’s the only build with enough games to back up its solid performance. The other lists here posted solid numbers as well, but they didn’t have nearly as many games under their belts.
As the weaker card of the week, there aren’t many decks with Joaquin torres falcon II that were able to show their worth over more than 50 games. These two seem to be the best performers at the moment.
Bounce was the obvious archetype to connect with Joaquin torres falcon II. Thanos Wiccan doesn’t really need the card, but the extra draws you get from the Infinity Stones triggering twice can save an otherwise bad early draw.
Heading into the weekend, both cards have decks you can use to complete their missions, but no decks using both Sam Wilson Captain America and Joaquin torres falcon II have emerged. If I wanted to try completing everything at once, I would probably play some kind of Thanos Ongoing deck. Maybe something like this:
