It seems like bundles with the 4,000 Credits for 3,000 Gold formula are starting to become a trend, just like the bundles with 3,000 Tokens for 3,500 Gold used to be. At the end of last year we saw Great Responsibility and Wave Check back-to-back with identical contents. And here we go again. Let’s find out if anything has changed over these 3 months or if the bundle is still just as controversial to buy.
As we can see – in its core the bundle is not very profitable to say the least. 107% Progress Value, a rather weak value of 0.88 Total Tokens per Gold, a variant for a Series 1 card… All of this suggests that this bundle doesn’t have much potential for purchase.
The only thing that allows me to say anything good about the Blade of Glory bundle is its 3,000 Gold price. But lately Second Dinner seem to prefer releasing bundles with lower price tags, unlike earlier times when a bundle for 7,500 Gold was the norm or when 5,000 Gold became almost the limit. But now things are different, so it’s hard to count this as a clear advantage of the bundle.
Comparison With Other Bundles
Everything is known through comparison, isn’t it? So let’s take a look at the charts comparing it with other bundles. And what do I see? Blade of Glory is so low relative to the average Progress Value that a little more and it would be competing with other bundles for the title of the worst. But no, it barely stays afloat among just bad bundles.
Among bundles in the same price category, Blade of Glory also doesn’t show its best side, sitting very close to the threshold of the worst list.
And unlike many other bundles with Credits where the Progress Value analysis is just a teaser before the truly important Total Tokens per Gold – which usually turns out to be high enough to make the bundle worth it – things are different here.
The Blade of Glory bundle simply doesn’t hold up and because of its value of 0.88 Total Tokens per Gold it falls below the average (and borderline in terms of recommendations) value of 0.91.
So yeah, unfortunately no miracle happened this time and you won’t get any special profit in terms of cards from this bundle.
Let’s also take a quick look at Credits for Gold.
If we don’t ignore Booster Packs in our calculations, they obviously set the trend and lead the rankings, making even a generally good value of 1.33 Credits per Gold (like in this bundle) look pretty average.
But if you’re already buying Booster Packs and value Credits (for splits or increasing your CL level), removing Booster Packs from the calculations shows that the bundle isn’t that far from the peak of 1.56 Credits per Gold seen over the last six months.
So yeah, if you have a lot of Gold and need Credits – Blade of Glory is a pretty decent way to get Credits at a slightly better rate.
Use cases for the Angela variant
As for the ways to use the Angela variant, I don’t think it’ll be a surprise to anyone that the main archetype featuring her is Shou Lao decks.
So here are a couple of such decks for your consideration: a more classic approach and a Thanos Shou Lao deck. Other archetypes rarely play Angela, so they’re almost not represented in the current meta. But as I said before – Angela is a Series 1 card, so using the variant in decks is purely cosmetic, there’s no additional value here.
Conclusion
Thus Blade of Glory bundle isn’t exactly bad, but it’s closer to the “bad” category than to average bundles or especially great ones that deserve attention.
That said, there’s still a use case for the bundle – if you have enough Gold to buy Booster Packs every week, buying this bundle will also provide you with a decent amount of Credits for splits and CL leveling. While it won’t be the best Progress Value in terms of Total Tokens, it’s definitely better than buying Credits or Tokens directly from the shop or through Token Tuesdays.
So my verdict – the bundle is generally mediocre and doesn’t deserve the attention of a wide range of players, but those who need Credits can take a look!
