Bundles of this category appear regularly, almost every month, and for some players, they’ve already become the norm for purchasing Tokens due to their predictable appearance. With a constant price of 3,500, this bundle, along with 3,000 Tokens, offers a variant low or high series card.
In this case, the bundle contains a variant for Captain America, a Series 1 card. So, there won’t be any additional value to extract from this variant.
Comparison With Other Bundles
The first two charts show a comparison of the Captain Carnivore bundle with other bundles for Gold over the past 12 and 3 months, respectively. It’s clear that when compared to bundles from last year, when the Progress Value of bundles was usually quite low, the Captain Carnivore bundle holds slightly above average.
But if we take the bundles from the past 3 months as a reference, the picture changes – now the bundle is below average and falls behind many of the recent bundles. Even the weekly Booster Pack bundles, which have always been bad, now significantly outpace the Captain Carnivore bundle in Progress Value – 133% compared to 115%.
If we look at similar bundles for the same price of 3,500 Gold over the entire time since the introduction of Spotlight Caches (Graph 3), we’ll see that the Progress Value of such bundles has hardly changed over nearly 2 years of bundles. So there’s no talking about any exclusivity here.
Speaking of Tokens for Gold, we’re essentially at the maximum possible value for bundles for Gold in general. So the bundle, while not being anything special, still offers a solid amount of Tokens, and it comes in the format of a regularly appearing bundle.
For those who only need Tokens at a good price, it’s a decent deal! Although rumors suggest that in April we might get an even better bundle with Tokens.
In terms of the number of new cards for Gold, the situation is similar to the Progress Value graphs. Looking at the bundles from the last 12 months, Captain Carnivore is above average. For the last 6 months, it’s dangerously close to the average value, and for the last 3 months, it’s already below average.
All of this suggests that the other bundles have become better, and in comparison, Captain Carnivore no longer looks as good in terms of Progress Value for cards.
However, it’s worth remembering that right now this is the best option if you don’t want to deal with Credits and Spotlight Caches and you want to get cards directly in the Token Shop.
The Usefulness of the Variant in the Meta
Since Captain America is a Series 1 card, we’ll only look at where you might use the variant if you buy the bundle.
For players with a high collection level, the only real option here is an Ongoing deck with Doom 2099. The deck is pretty good and ranks quite high, but if it drops down, it will be very hard for Captain America to find another suitable spot.

For newcomers who can afford to spend 3,500 Gold, it’s hard for me to suggest anything, as you’re likely already past the Series 2 ranks and need to compete in Series 3, where you should have at least a partially assembled meta deck. So, the option for you is to build a deck based on the example above, but with card replacements.
Nonetheless, if you’re somehow in Pool 2, you can try out a Zoo Ongoing deck like the one below. There are no cards from Series 3 or higher, so you can build it almost right from the start.

Thus, the bundle compared to its predecessors in the same category of bundles “3,000 Tokens for 3,500 Gold” loses 0.5 stars for not being a sufficiently relevant offer compared to other bundles that have noticeably improved recently.
I could confidently recommend these bundles to everyone six months ago when other bundles hardly offered any value. But now the situation is changing, and it seems we’ll soon be getting many bundles with extremely high Progress Value and even variants for Series 5 cards. The new weekly Booster Packs are a first sign for such changes.
And I might even want to give it 2.5 stars, but the fact remains – if you need Tokens at a good rate, there’s no better bundle than this right now. So I recommend it to those who plan to buy a card or two in the Token Shop soon, while I’d advise others to save their Gold and buy a more profitable bundle that offers more net profit, even if it’s through Keys, Credits or Series 5 variants.
