The upcoming start of a new month means another bundle for Gold with Credits and 0% additional value. Let’s see if there’s any upside to purchasing the Widow’s Web bundle.
Guide
Well, 4,000 Collector’s Tokens for 3,200 Gold is exactly what you would get if you bought Mission Refreshes or Credits directly from the shop, so there’s no additional value here, as one would hope to see in bundles.
And although 3,200 Gold isn’t that much, it’s roughly the amount of Gold you would earn over an entire season if you bought the Season Pass. Spending these reserves on what is essentially buying Credits from the shop with an additional option usually isn’t very appealing.
Comparison With Other Bundles
If we look at the charts below, we can see that the bundle is unremarkable and is a logical continuation of a series of bad bundles with 0% additional value, with rare exceptions like Glows to the Chest, Operation: Summer Break or Me, Myself, and I (the latter provides extra value if you don’t have Legion and would like to get him).
This is also clearly visible on the chart dedicated to bundles over the last 6 months in terms of Credits per Gold. The last bundles for Gold with Credits and Progress Value above 100% were more than 2 months ago! They appear as a small hill before the recent flat valley of bundles with 100% Progress Value.
So, no surprises here—the bundle is quite mediocre and unremarkable among other bundles, no matter how you look at it.
But in addition, it’s important to know how good the variant card included in the bundle is, as this can also have its own value.
The Usefulness Of The Variant In The Meta
Black Widow is a Series 3 card, which means those who don’t have it can use it as an alternative to the basic card in their decks. Currently, Black Widow isn’t an important card in the meta. She appears in some Stature Darkhawk deck builds, but that’s about it. Previously, Black Widow was always closely associated with the Darkhawk archetype, but her popularity was periodic.
So, newcomers are unlikely to appreciate this card if they get it for free. I definitely don’t recommend buying the bundle just for Black Widow. Veterans, however, might want to consider the card if you enjoy Darkhawk decks and specifically like this variant.
Conclusion
Ultimately, this bundle is worth getting only if you like the Black Widow variant. As a bundle with additional Progress Value, it’s completely unsuitable and better skipped in favor of a better bundle in the future or spending Gold on good Token Tuesdays, which cost 1,500 Gold and provide more cards in the long run than such bad bundles.
