Happy New Year everyone!
Just in time for the occasion, we’re reviewing a new bundle, the first in several weeks. Let’s take a good look at it and figure out if it’s worth it in 2026 or not.
As we can see, the bundle’s numbers aren’t too bad. 117% Progress Value isn’t the best result, but it’s not 105% like it often is. 0.9 Total Tokens per Gold is also decent, right on the border of what could be considered a good bundle.
But unfortunately, the price is quite high – 5,000 Gold, with no Credits included, which are valued much higher than Tokens, and here we have 4,500 Tokens, with which you can’t do much besides buying borders or new cards. This generally gives a barely average result, but let’s go over the graphs with other bundles released recently to compare them with the Spirited Away bundle.
Comparison With Other Bundles
In terms of Progress Value, the bundle holds slightly above average for both the last 12 months and the last 6 months. But we shouldn’t forget that Progress Value doesn’t directly determine the bundle’s worth, as different currencies have different values. It only answers the question “how much more profitable is the bundle than the same content purchased separately?” And since Tokens themselves cost more, even though they have less utility, it’s natural that the bundle will rank well on this chart.
In the price range, it’s pretty much the same – the bundle stays slightly above average, so for the price of 5,000 Gold, its Progress Value is quite good. But the main criterion for comparison is still ahead.
And here, finally, is the most important number for a bundle – Total Tokens per Gold.
Spirited Away looks worse here. Among bundles from the last 12 months, this bundle, with its 0.9 Total Tokens per Gold, falls below the average of 0.92. But for the last 6 months, the bundle is right at the average level.
So, the bundle isn’t bad and isn’t good. I think it largely comes down to buying it for the Astral Projection card, and even then, the card is questionable. Let’s talk about that in more detail.
What if you don’t have Astral Projection?
Astral Projection is a Series 4 card, so by buying the bundle and not having this card in your collection, you essentially get about 3,000 Tokens for free. And this boosts the bundle’s value very well and essentially makes it a must-have if you don’t have the card and truly need it.
Use cases for the Astral Projection variant
But if we talk about where you can actually use Astral Projection – things aren’t so smooth.
It’s fair to say that the card isn’t used anywhere at all, and I struggled to find a couple of decks where it makes any sense. The first deck is a fun Daken Bullseye deck, not particularly strong in the meta, and the second deck is a fairly classic Ongoing deck, but with Astral Projection in it, and without it, the deck’s win rate is actually better.
Conclusion
I thought for a long time about whether to give the bundle 2.5 or 3 stars, because both ratings generally reflect the average position of the bundle.
But objectively speaking, there are tangible downsides here: Tokens instead of Credits (you spend them and that’s it, no additional cosmetics from the CL track), a high price of 5,000 Gold, and also a variant for a completely unplayable card, which you and your opponent will only see for a couple of seconds during play. Thus, I wouldn’t recommend the bundle to anyone, unless you currently need Tokens to buy a good card from the shop.
So, 2.5 stars, and it’s better to save your Gold or buy Booster Packs on Mondays (they’re great).
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Spirited Away bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
