Two weeks ago the Cold Embrace bundle ended, and here we are again with a bundle featuring Credits with a high Series card variant for 5,000 Gold. Let’s take a closer look.
As you can see, Frostfang Behemoth bundle offers quite a lot of Credits for its hefty 5,000 Gold, giving it an impressive 1.5 Credits per Gold and 0.99 Total Tokens per Gold.
Meanwhile, the Progress Value isn’t that high at 120%, but since the bundle includes Credits rather than Tokens, it’s a bit less of a concern than usual. Credits may be cheaper on their own but they offer solid value when converted into Tokens and new cards.
Comparison With Other Bundles
From the charts below you can see that the bundle isn’t among the top but takes a solid spot just behind them and has a Progress Value noticeably above average.
If we only look at bundles in the same price tier – it shows more modest results and even falls just below average compared to bundles at the same price released over the last 6 months. That’s because most other bundles for 5,000 Gold are simply more efficient on paper thanks to how pricey (but not valuable) the Tokens they contain are.
In this section you can see a fairer comparison – the Total Tokens per Gold each bundle offers.
And here the bundle in question does very well, sitting as close to the top of the chart as possible, beaten only by the absolute top-tier and most expensive bundles. So the value per Gold is high here – you’ll get plenty of Tokens converted from Credits.
As for Credits per Gold, Booster Packs are obviously in a league of their own and compared to them almost every other bundle doesn’t look great (chart 1).
But if you take them out of the equation and focus only on unique bundles (chart 2) – over the past 12 months Frostfang Behemoth is beaten only by The One Who Knocks and Border Bundle.
So if you want Credits at a good price – aside from Booster Packs, this is the best you can get. Split fans – check out this bundle!
Thus even if you already have Sasquatch you’ll be able to extract great value from the Frostfang Behemoth bundle, especially if you actively split cards! Now let’s move on to the scenario where you don’t have Sasquatch and want to add it to your collection by buying this bundle.
What if you don’t have Sasquatch?
Well – nothing new in this section, as usual! 200% Progress Value isn’t a joke and the charts below prove it. Getting a Series 4 card as a bonus on top of an already great bundle makes Frostfang Behemoth a must-have for anyone who doesn’t yet own that card.
And for info on which decks Sasquatch plays in and whether you need it – check out the next section.
Use cases for the Sasquatch variant
Sasquatch is a pretty odd Series 4 card to build a deck around.
He doesn’t have any direct synergies so he usually just finds a spot in decks as a good card. Below are a couple of deck examples that perform well in the meta and include Sasquatch.
At the same time, since Sasquatch’s release there hasn’t been a stretch when he was actively played or a crowd favorite – on the contrary he’s easy to forget and you don’t always want to play a 10-power body with no abilities even if it’s a bit cheaper than usual.
So his long-term value still seems questionable and I’d say you shouldn’t pick up the bundle just for the card. As a nice bonus, sure – but if that’s all you’re after, it isn’t worth it.
Conclusion
Thus the bundle shows very solid numbers, it’ll please all fans of Credits and new Splits and it also has the potential to give you a free Series 4 card if you don’t have Sasquatch yet!
As an alternative you can consider the great Booster Packs available every Saturday or wait for a bundle for the same 5,000 Gold but with a card you actually need (this strategy’s especially good if you’ve got almost no high-series cards). Otherwise this bundle stands above other bundles and earns a high rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 (though I’m kind of leaning toward 4 stars).
Also, don’t forget that you can evaluate this bundle in comparison to others using a variety of different criteria, utilizing the special chart on the dedicated Frostfang Behemoth bundle page! Below is an updated guide on how to use our tools to evaluate bundles on your own.
