An extra week has helped solidify Esme Cuckoo as a great supporting piece, although the Season Pass card still fails to post great results at the very top of the ladder. It doesn’t mean the card can’t be played at the higher ranks, but expect more disruption, and players retreating faster if they cannot stop your combo oriented deck, where Esme Cuckoo does her best work.
Prodigy has a bad track record so far, and that applies to all ranks. The new 3-cost card has been a part of a lot of archetypes, but has yet to elevate one. Its flexibly allows Prodigy to see play in a lot of strategies, so a great one might be hiding in the mass. However, when looking at all the excellent builds we have in this metagame, they all posted better results without Prodigy over the past three days.
| Mission | # | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Play 3-Cost Cards | 15 | 150 Credits |
| Win with Esme Cuckoo starting in your Deck | 4 | 300 Collector’s Tokens |
| Win with Prodigy starting in your Deck | 8 | 150 Gold |
Prodigy Performance

Prodigy has been a disappointing card so far, failing to convince us by any metric whether you look at the top ranks or the entirety of the ladder. There are strong decks with Prodigy included, but these are all archetypes we knew before the card released, and with better builds without Prodigy as well.
I have been part of those excited about Prodigy, and recommend it as a worthy purchase in my analysis article. Due to the card being flexible, it will not be a problem to complete its associated missions at all. Moreover, I still think those flexible, fit most strategies cards have a future in Marvel Snap eventually.
However, I cannot recommend purchasing Prodigy from an immediate competitive standpoint anymore, especially if you can make the top tier decks already.

Esme Cuckoo Performance

In the lower ranks, Esme Cuckoo has become a top tier card, helping plenty of decks to improve their draw reliability. In that less competitive environment, where Snaps and retreats aren’t as sharp, combo-oriented decks tend to perform much better. They benefit from fewer counter cards in opposite decks and players more willing to stay in matches even without an ideal draw.
However, just like Captain Carter last season, Esme Cuckoo loses appeal as we climb the ranks, and the environment tightens around the top tier decks. More of Cosmo or Mobius M. Mobius are present to limit Esme Cuckoo‘s ability. More of Enchantress to counter those fantastic Ongoing targets, and quicker retreats when those counter options are not around.
Esme Cuckoo is a great card to climb to Infinite, but a more challenging one to leverage once you get there.

Bonus Challenge Decks
Although they have similar cards to synergize with, there hasn’t been a deck with a great performance and both Esme Cuckoo and Prodigy included. Here is a Ramp, high roll based deck I have been using this week, and with strong enough results to complete both missions at the same time.
Overall, the Ongoing synergy, especially the Iron Man, Gorr the Butcher, and Mystique trio seem to be the best direction to form a bridge between Esme Cuckoo and Prodigy.
Esme Cuckoo has been out of Silver Surfer decks after the testing period ended. At the moment, the best lists for the archetype don’t include Prodigy, but the card still gets the benefit of the doubt as it still is quite recent.
I’m sure you could fit both cards to knock off all missions at once, but if you had to pick, Prodigy seems to be the better of the two in Silver Surfer decks at the moment. Gwenpool on turn four, play a 2-cost or move Cap's Shield to copy the 4-cost with Prodigy leads to a lot of power in hand for turn six.
Scream Move looks to be the archetype most able to fit Prodigy in the mix, although the 3-cost has failed to elevate the deck in any way. Then, consider this your typical “throw the card in a strong archetype” option to complete the missions.
With an extra week under her belt, Esme Cuckoo has found a few archetypes to be a strong addition in. The best two are the traditional Toxic build without High Evolutionary, a strong pick if you see a lot of Mobius M. Mobius but still want to play around Hazmat and Ajax.
The other contender is Mister Negative, arguably the archetype Esme Cuckoo helped the most since her release.
If neither of these two picks interested you, Esme Cuckoo can be added to an Ongoing, Silver Surfer or Small Good Cards deck as well.
