A new week means a new bundle! This time there are no Credits, just Collector’s Tokens, a Series 4 card variant, and a bit of cosmetics. Is it worth it? Let’s find out!
For 5,000 Gold, we get 4,500 Tokens, which gives us a very good value of Tokens for Gold – 0.9 and 117% Progress Value. And although the value is quite good, in the current economy system it’s important to consider other ways of acquiring Collector’s Tokens.
Knowing that it takes about 1.51 Credits to get 1 Token, that the same 4,500 Tokens would cost 6,800 Credits or 5,450 Gold if we bought Credits directly in the shop, while also getting a lot of cosmetics on the CL track and splitting about 5 cards. Therefore, a bundle with Credits, even with a small value, can compete with this bundle but will provide much more cosmetics.
Comparison With Other Bundles
Among the bundles over the past year, Fairy Dust Fighter looks good, sitting above the average value, but significantly trailing behind the top ones like Border Bundle and Ethereal Architect. When the time frame is reduced to 6 months, things get worse, and the bundle barely hits the average value.
Looking at the bundles in the same price category, the situation is similar. When considering the bundles throughout their history, starting from the Spotlight Update, Fairy Dust Fighter is above average. However, among the bundles for 5,000 Gold released in the last few months, it’s slightly below average, which is pretty bad for a bundle at that price.
When comparing Fairy Dust Fighter with other bundles in terms of the value of Total Tokens for Gold, it’s clear that this one is close to the average value, sitting either slightly above or slightly below it depending on the comparison period.
Overall, the bundle falls short compared to a large number of bundles, including those priced at 5,000 gold, but still surpasses a significant number, so it can’t be considered entirely bad or really good.
What if you don’t have Pixie?
Well, it’s also worth discussing the situation where you don’t have Pixie. Here, as usual, the bundle becomes simply excellent and outshines all other bundles with its numbers. In other words, it’s a great choice and almost a must-have if you need Pixie. We’ll talk about whether you need her in the next section.
The Usefulness of the Variant in the Meta
Pixie is a Series 4 card, so if you don’t have her, you can include her in your decks immediately upon purchasing the bundle (and the base version will be given to you in one of the upcoming patches). Unfortunately, even if you don’t have Pixie, you don’t lose out on much.
Right now, Pixie is essentially outside the meta, and all decks featuring her are showing pretty poor results (and no, it’s not because of Global Bounty). The only deck with Pixie that has shown good results is the one from Buttsquad, which helped them secure a Top-8 in the recent Golden Gauntlet. But even this deck shows rather weak results in Ranked matches and doesn’t make the Pixie card any better in the slightest.
Of course – nothing is stopping you from buying the bundle and getting a free Pixie, but considering how weak she is in play and that similar bundles for 5,000 Gold often include Series 5 cards, I wouldn’t recommend chasing after Pixie by purchasing the bundle.
Conclusion
I believe the Fairy Dust Fighter bundle isn’t the best purchase. It has around average metrics, contains a variant for a weak Series 4 card, and won’t give you cosmetics like Credits in the same equivalent.
I thought long and hard between 2.5 and 3 stars, but I decided that 3 stars is too much for it. Fairy Dust Fighter can still be suitable for those who just want to get Collector’s Tokens at a good price and/or enjoy a new card, but on average for that price, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s better to save your Gold and spend it on something else. Moreover, the amazing Booster Packs are still a thing and continue to have the highest value of Total Tokens per Gold!
