Elsa Bloodstone and Nightcrawler Decks: Weekend Challenge Mission Guide

Our guide for the this week's set of Weekend Challenge Missions featuring Elsa Bloodstone and Nightcrawler! Complete the missions efficiently using our decks, or find out how they are performing and decide if you want the card!

During the weekend, there is now one more set of Missions for players to complete: The Weekend Missions! These involve additional rewards for winning games related to the week’s new card and the Season Pass card. These missions provide extra Collector’s Tokens and Gold! This week’s Weekend Challenges are:

Mission#Reward
Play 1 Cost Cards30200 Credits
Win with Elsa Bloodstone starting in your Deck8150 Gold
Win with Nightcrawler starting in your Deck8200 Credits

You need to win games with the card starting in your deck, and it does not count if the card was generated by cards such as Cable, Loki, and Maria Hill. Each of these reward amounts will vary depending on the difficulty of the mission. There will be Weekly Missions available for each new card release. The goal of Weekly Missions is to allow players to earn back Collector’s Tokens from new cards and subsidize their cost.

The token missions are expected to differ from week to week, depending on the card. For example, three wins for 100 Collector’s Tokens, four wins for 300, and five wins for 500, depending on the week (1,000 Collector’s Tokens is on the highest end).

Most players will want to be efficient with these missions, so today we will give you three different decks that incorporate Elsa Bloodstone.

We’ll also give you a short guide on how to get the most out of the deck and finish the missions quickly, but first let’s take a quick look at the new card’s performance this week.

Elsa Bloodstone arrives as the latest Season Pass card in Marvel Snap, and it’s one that made an immediate impact. Elsa slotted into some archetypes that have found it harder to compete in the months leading up to her release such as Bounce, as other decks rose and added another level to the power output. The power ceiling for this card is massive, and when she is on the board it seems the impact she has is larger than any other 2-drop. But is this enough to make her a must-buy?

Marvel Snap is designed around winning two lanes of limited board space with your cards. This means efficient power is one of the most powerful, if not the most powerful, things you can do with a deck. Elsa is incredibly efficient. She comes down in the early game and works throughout the rest of the game, allowing multiple triggers for minimum investment of energy and play patterns.

Many “combo” cards require play orders and drawing cards in specific orders, and Elsa seemingly only requires that you can play her before you fill a lane. Although this not without any deck building requirements (you need a deck that wants to fill lanes and put down power), the restrictions for this card often translate to playing her in a high power output deck. These are some of the most flexible and powerful decks in Marvel Snap, like Bounce.

Additionally, a lot of the most powerful synergy cards, like Jeff the Baby Land Shark, are good cards in plenty of different shells, and now you need to ask if you can also play Elsa and other support cards in all these decks. This is already starting to create a metagame that appears diverse, yet most the decks include Elsa Bloodstone and some of her friends. While they may seem like different decks, they are all looking to use her ability to put down additional power efficiently.

She is not without any downsides. Her ability is added power, so Shadow King wipes that power away, and a lot of the support cards also gain power that Shadow King can counter. However, the other main downside is her reliance on other cards to activate the effect. She is not, as much as it might seem it with the number of decks featuring her, a standalone card. To maximize her impact, you need cards that fill lanes and can use the additional power. The issue here is that if these decks and supporting cards go down, Elsa Bloodstone could down with them.

In short, almost every deck right now needs to consider if they can include Elsa Bloodstone and some of her friends. If not, you have to have an answer to limit the effectiveness of the cards. This is the definition of a meta-defining card, and it’s definitely one that you will want if you’re looking to experiment with flood decks over this coming month.

So, how do we use Elsa Bloodstone to rack up wins and complete the Weekend Challenge Missions?

Bounce decks were the first powerful home for Elsa Bloodstone, but one way to go with this is to remove the bounce cards entirely and play Nightcrawler as another way to get buffs from Elsa and redistribute power. This also dodges Mobius M. Mobius, as we don’t want to do any energy reduction to reach our full potential.

Movement decks can use Elsa without being all-in, and they have a lot of flexibility and game finishing potential thanks to how they make use of Alioth. The key strength here is if you are ahead against the deck looking to drop all the cards on the final turn, you can simply play Alioth on the final lane and secure the victory easily. Elsa helps add power, which keeps you ahead by buffing your movement pieces.

Loki

Loki is the surprising final contender. Loki decks often fill the board, so an early Elsa can add significant power. And, again, the key synergy card Kitty Pryde is here. Thanks to Elsa, the decks are not as reliant on the Loki play, so they can use Loki with more flexibility (like aiming to buff the Collector on the last turn where we can’t get the reductions due to Mobius M. Mobius).

Closing Thoughts

Wins with the new card may seem a tall order some weeks depending what quality of card is released. Hopefully this guide helps you decide first if you want the card prior to the missions coming out, and what you can potentially play to complete the missions quickly!
