Spider-Ham Release Issue: Not Appearing in Collector’s Reserves (Resolved)

The issue preventing Spider-Ham from appearing in Collector’s Reserves was solved in today’s OTA update. Spider-Ham is now available in Collector’s Reserves as intended. Second Dinner will be sending 3000 Tokens to players that would have opened Spider-Ham in Collector’s Reserves while the issue was active.

It looks like the release of Spider-Ham, the first card to be introduced as a Series 4 card (not including the initial batch last year), has been marred yet by another issue with new Marvel Snap card releases, followed by examples such as Kitty Pryde and High Evolutionary.

The card can be purchased for 3,000 Collector’s Tokens as intended, and players were finding the card stronger than anticipated for turning the opponent’s cards into a Pig and revealing the card at the same time (as opposed to the Iceman).

Unfortunately, players (with a complete Series 4 collection) have reported that after opening the required number of caches in the Collection Track, Spider-Ham was nowhere to be found. Series 4 cards have a fixed chance of being found in a group of 40 Collector’s Reserves; that is, at the very least players can find one Series 4 card in every 41 to 79 caches.

Cache Drop Rates and Contents

Players are speculating that the card is treated like a Series 5 card in the Collection Track, which has a 0.25% chance of being found. Currently, we are awaiting further news regarding any compensation or fixes, as Second Dinner investigates the issue as per their Discord announcement:

We’re investigating an issue that’s preventing Spider-Ham from appearing on the Collection Track. It is absolutely our intent that newly released cards are available via the Collection Track upon release. We’ll keep you updated when we have more information.

We hope to see Second Dinner iron out some of these first-time processes as time goes on: Just recently, we’ve had the first batch of Weekend Missions not go through and players are still awaiting compensation.
