Strategy and General Tips
Milano is, in theory, a one-turn location. It’s similar to Pet Mansion, except you know about the upcoming restriction from Turn 3 and you can plan your other plays around it. The Guardians of the Galaxy cards synergize well with this location, and a combination of these on Turn 5 will often completely overpower the location. If successful with a strong Guardians play on Turn 5, the opponent will then have to rely on using cards like Doctor Doom to get into the location to contest.

Every week, I like to analyze how we interact with the location and, unfortunately, this one falls into a similar space as Plunder Castle. Once it is flipped, we are stuck with the effect. On the plus, side as long as you have some power to play on Turn 5 you can contest this location with any deck unlike Plunder Castle which is often a lock out for many decks.
So, the decks this week will look to include good Turn 5 plays. While we can also look to cards like Doctor Doom to get into the location, the amount of power this will push compared to having a solid Turn 5 play may not be enough. For example, if you Wave on Turn 5 in the location and the opponent plays Gamora, that is not a winning situation for you. Arnim Zola or Heimdall could be cards that interact well with this location to push surprise power into Milano on Turn 6.

Also, everyone’s favorite little shark Jeff the Baby Land Shark as to be considered here as the one card we can play before Turn 5 to get into the location.

Deck Features
This deck looks to use all the Guardians and the best Lane Control cards. We play a combination of Guardians on Turn 5 to win Milano, and then use Doctor Doom to push power if we need to later. Always aim for plan A though – play Guardians into Milano on Turn 5. When we don’t have Milano, we can back up early Nebula plays with Guardians and lockdown effects. Storm, Juggernaut, and Professor X all synergize well with Nebula. Playing Storm on Turn 4 prior to Milano is another way to lock out a lane, which may be effective during the location.
When considering what decks could work with this location, this one came back up. It was initially developed for the release of Iron Lad, but the Arnim Zola effect allows you to not have to compete on Turn 5 and consistently aim to get power into the lane later. We also have some solid plays for Turn 5 if we do want to compete when Milano is open. Outside of the location, we just want to use Wong and Arnim Zola to duplicate strong cards.
This one is far from original, but it is well placed with Milano. Why? Dracula and Morbius. Both of these cards can be buffed later if played into the location on Turn 5 while we lock another lane earlier with Storm. If you want to play something you are probably familiar with that can work consistently into Milano, Discard is the way.
Series 2 and below (pre- CL 474)
Guardians in Series 2 can be effective as we can later use Odin to retrigger if we need to. Gamora on Turn 5 is plan A, but White Tiger as plan B is also an effective power push. The simple game plan here is to try playing on curve as best you can outside of Turn 5.
What is the Milano?

The Milano is a remarkable spacecraft in the Marvel Universe, serving as the primary mode of transportation for the intergalactic team known as the Guardians of the Galaxy. Named after the city in Italy, the Milano is not your ordinary spaceship—it’s a unique vessel with a vibrant personality and a storied history of adventures across the cosmos.
