Caiera5What If?
High Evolutionary5Bronze Age
Nebula5Javier Rodriguez

For our first cache of the season, we get the crazy new card Caiera in addition to the new season pass card! Her ability protects all of your 1-Cost and 6-Cost cards from being destroyed. This could potentially bring Zoo decks into a meta position by protecting you from Killmonger! This also has the potential to synergize well with the other cards from this cache. Nebula is one of the best 1-Cost cards in the game, and Caiera protects her from getting destroyed. You could just use Armor, but this let’s you protect more than just Nebula across all lanes.

High Evolutionary also uses Caiera well by protecting your Misty Knight and Sunspot from getting destroyed. These cards, and often times Nebula as well, can snowball matches by constantly increasing your power without even playing more cards. If you run She-Hulk to maximize on skipping turns, Shang-Chi can’t destroy She-Hulk either if Caiera is on the board.

This looks like a very synergistic week with lots of great cards. Even if you don’t use the cards together in a deck, they each hold their own and could prove quite useful in a number of decks. This week is definitely one of the best Cache weeks you could ask for!

Hercules5Planet Hulk
Werewolf By Night5Bronze Age
Howard the Duck5 (Dropping to 4)Infinity Gauntlet

Hercules leads the charge in this week’s cache! He is an interesting card that plans to bounce cards around the board multiple times. He is best paired with Kraven, so cards constantly move into Kraven’s lane, but Hercules opens the space back up for more movement! Werewolf By Night also joins this week’s cache, but will he be as viable at a 4-Cost card? If you play Zabu, Hercules and Zabu become 3-Cost cards. This opens the door up for Werewolf to bounce around into Hercules lane without worrying about clogging the lane. Outside of Hercules, Werewolf is still viable in bounce decks that aim to use On Reveals multiple times on the final 2 turns.

At long last, Howard the Duck gets his first Spotlight Cache! This officially means every Series 4 and 5 card have appeared at least once in a cache. Though Howard is dropping to Series 4 this week, and isn’t necessarily a top tier card. Being able to see the next draw of your deck seems incredibly strong, but with plenty of decks using Korg and Rockslide, your deck can get easily shuffled and change those outcomes before you can even draw them. On a positive side though, Howard synergizes very well with Jubilee and Iron Lad so you can target the card / ability you will get!

Miek5Planet Hulk
Annihilus5Steampunk
The Phoenix Force5Pantheon

At our halfway point through this season, we get Miek! Miek is an interesting card, though I’m not sold on him being very good. At a 1/1 statline, he basically acts like a worse Morbius that can move each turn that you discard. If you draw Morbius late, his Ongoing ability let’s you make his stats worth it, even with Hela. Miek is only useful at the early turns, and even then I’m not sure what cards you want to cut for his ability.

On the other hand, the supporting cards thus week are Phoenix Force and Annihilus and are much better cards. Annihilus is a staple in junk decks. Combined with The Hood and Sentry, you can swing an incredible amount of power on turns 5 and 6. Phoenix Force has had its ups and downs since its season pass, but it now holds a single deck a solid place in the meta. Combined with Shuri and Nimrod, Phoenix has become a Force to be reckoned with.

Grand Master5Mark Brooks
Loki5Vote Loki
Hit Monkey5Chibi

Snap’s newest combo piece arrives this week, Grand Master! His ability to retrigger On Reveals may make him a staple in combo decks, or in decks that want specific on reveals. You can also use him to retrigger spells from Nico, where that was only previously possible using Odin. The fact he is a 2-Cost makes him easy to combo with, and benefits from the cost reduction of Ravonna Renslayer. Something to be cautious with Grand Master is a he can’t target a specific card, so make sure you don’t have a bunch of On Reveals on the board if you want a specific one to trigger again.

Along with Grand Master, Loki and Hit Monkey join the cache! These two cards both could utilize Grand Master’s ability. Loki change your hand again (Assuming you top deck Grand Master or copy your opponent’s) and also buff your collector twice. If you run Sera, Hit Monkey can be played with Grand Master and several other cards. This can allow you to retrigger Hit Monkey the same turn you play him for massive power!

Beta Ray Bill5Del Mundo
Galactus5Bronze Age
Elsa Bloodstone5Corin Howell

This month is one of the special months that gets a 5 week season. Closing this final box is Beta Ray Bill, who might be my personal most anticipated card. His ability is the same as Thor, but he doubles power instead of gaining +6. Him being a 4-Cost makes him curve perfectly into Thor -> Beta Ray Bill -> Jane Foster -> Odin + your hammers. Beta Ray Bill also works well in decks that work with Sebastian Shaw since buffing Beta Ray Bill means making his double effect more potent.

Joining BRB for this last week is Galactus and Elsa Bloodstone. While Galactus is not nearly the monster he used to be, he has found a solid home alongside Annihilus and junk decks as an alternate win condition. He may not be very effective during this week though since he’s biggest strength is against players who aren’t expecting him.

Elsa Bloodstone has seen the chopping block several times since her launch. Her current iteration is fairly weak though since she is limited to one lane now. This has pretty much driven her out of the meta. Developer Glenn has mentioned on the official Q/A Discord server that he agrees Elsa isn’t quite strong enough, so I would expect to see a buff before her next appearance.
