Marvel Snap Ranked Meta Tier List: August 16, 2025 – Heralds of Galactus Week 2 & Post OTA

Welcome to our Marvel Snap Ranked Meta Tier List! Each week, we review the best decks in the ever-changing Marvel Snap ladder meta.

It isn’t much of a surprise, but still an unfortunate state of the game following the OTA : The best decks, by a significant margin, are those who used to compete with End of Turn before the update: Fenris Wolf led synergies and Iron Hand. There are a lot of newcomers in this Tier List, but none was any close to earning a Tier 1 spot.

In the trending section, Mill posted an impressive performance, but is a Fenris Wolf deck. it could emerge as sort of a counter to other disruptive destroy decks thanks to running Death, but it wouldn’t really change the landscape if that one took over. Then, our best bet might be decks able to play, but especially protect high power cards. In this report, that would be Ramp and Pixie War Machine.

When you play against Fenris Wolf, you have to dodge two types of problems. Gladiator and Negasonic Teenage Warhead early on, and Shang-Chi plus Cannonball later. Against the first duo, high power cards will be more resilient against Gladiator, while they help seize priority for Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Their problem is to dodge Shang-Chi and Cannonball from destroying them. In order to do so, we either want to find cards at 8 or 9 power, like the Ramp deck does, or run Armor and Cosmo, the strategy used by Pixie War Machine.

This is just the start of finding the solution to the Fenris Wolf domination. Yet, with the next OTA planned on August 28th, we need to start somewhere if we don’t want to wait for two weeks in hope for another update.

Happy Tier List, everyone!

Here is my usual annoying advice because I’m a coach and I like to think this helps people: Focus on controlling the stakes of each game and building trust in both your deck and your decision-making abilities. Once you feel confident, feel free to take more risks. Reaching Infinite is all about understanding the process of grinding cubes. Also, constantly changing your deck limits your ability to learn the game fundamentals, as you are always focused on learning how to pilot the new deck.

It is a little early to call it, but Mill might be the comeback archetype of the summer if this performance can be replicated over a large sample size. It makes sense if you think about it. Mill has been using the Destroy synergy for a while, so it is no surprise to see it amongst the Fenris Wolf enjoyers. Plus, the ability to remove cards from your opponent is a huge upside against other Fenris Wolf decks, which rely on specific synergies to function at the best.

Yondu takes out Mercury ? No need to worry about Cannonball anymore. Cable steals Negasonic Teenage Warhead ? Now we can lose priority heading into the last turn. And the best of them all, everyone helps us to discount Death !

Shang-Chi is in a lot of decks, so we can’t ramp towards high power cards carelessly at the moment. However, if we can find cards at 8 or 9 power, they stay alive against Gladiator while dodging Shang-Chi as well. Plus, Jubilee and Electro are great pulls from our deck for Gladiator. This is kind of what this deck tries to do, spreading points across the board while keeping safe from the main disruptive tools of this environment.

We’ll have to see if the deck can keep it up long term, but Ramp has not looked this good in a while.

It didn’t take a genius to guess some sort of Fenris Wolf deck would be sitting at the top of the rankings shortly after the OTA. For now, it seems that Wiccan Control, the most reliable of the bunch, took over.

The great upside of this deck is to quickly figure out its odds to win a match. Indeed, if you grab priority early with Wiccan in hand, you are in complete control of the match. From there, it is simply a game of figuring out your opponent’s agenda and ruining it to the best of your abilities.

Potential Additions

Alioth can be the 6-cost cards for even more disruption. Red Guardian is flexible if you value another card more.

I’m very glad to see a non Fenris Wolf build of Iron Hand sit at the top performers for that archetype, since Iron Hand is one of the few able to compete with that package at the moment.

Here, the goal is to create an extremely flexible last turn without holding priority. Then, apart from Negasonic Teenage Warhead, our opponent can’t really leverage the likes of Shang-Chi or Cannonball. Most of the time, Fenris Wolf decks don’t run Killmonger, so Quinjet should be relatively safe to discount our created cards.

Potential Additions

Quake is a great card with and against Iron Patriot at the moment. Indeed, it is very difficult to win a specific location against decks with Gladiator, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Juggernaut in their arsenal. Then, moving the location is often a great way to circumvent that problem.

There is a build with the Fenris Wolf package also doing great if you like that one more. Nico Minoru, Quinjet, Quake, Moon Girl and Luna Snow are replace with Fenris Wolf, Gladiator, Shang-Chi, Killmonger and Negasonic Teenage Warhead

Someone had an awful day and wanted to make everyone else feel miserable as well is how I would explain this deck. Fenris Wolf and company were not enough, so Spider-Ham and The Thing First Steps also joined in on the fun. This is pure disruption, aimed at cancelling any synergy your opponent would try to mount.

The points can feel a bit low at time, but considering the opponent will be playing with half of their deck destroyed or disrupted, the goal isn’t to put up 20 points per location. Plus, Merlin’s Polymorph can turn Juggernaut, Negasonic Teenage Warhead or Surge into solid points providers at times.

Potential Additions

Sam Wilson captain America is mostly used to help The Thing First Steps get a full location, but represents the flexible card in the deck.

My money was not on White Tiger to be in this Tier List, even with a 9 power Tiger. Yet, the card founds its way into the very controversial On Reveal Destroy archetype.

The controversy mostly comes from the very different results everyone posts when using this deck, sort of what Bounce was when it started to be come a popular things years ago. Some players believe this is one of the best decks in the game, and its ability to leverage destroyed cards is a fantastic upside against Fenris Wolf and its friends. Others deem the deck too unreliable, and the synergies really need to click to manage to develop enough points to compete with most competitive archetypes.

I really like this deck, but it takes a lot of losing to get to understand how to win with it.

Potential Additions

Juggernaut is a disruptive cards you can replace with another On Reveal ability. Red Guardian works well with Firehair to remain on the disruptive side of things. Hood generates a lot of points. Nico Minoru is a flexible card with multiple spells – Destroy, Copy, Change Location – working great in this deck.

Tier 3

Tier 3 features some very interesting and different synergies. Plus, two of them sport a solid win rate, with Black Knight Agatha at 56.5% and Pixie War Machine at 55.5%. Unfortunately, those decks give their opponent too much information early in the match about their potential, meaning these decks have snap turn two or three at the latest to play for more than 1 cube.

Currently, it isn’t that simple to do so against disruptive decks, designed to start strong, and then able to turn locations around. Pixie War Machine with Armor and Cosmo probably is your best bet if you want to snap early against those decks.

Good Game Everyone.

Disclaimer and Tier Explanations

In order to be featured here, a deck needs to represent at least 1% of the current environment and have a positive Cube Average in the Ranked mode. Win Rate is also taken into consideration, and it can greatly impact the ranking of a deck, particularly when several archetypes (or different builds of the same deck) have a similar Cube Average but big Win Rate discrepancies. The Marvel Snap mechanics do, however, push players to maximize cubes gained rather than win every single game.

In order to create this chart, den is using data from our Marvel Snap Tracker, as well as other available data online and his own expertise and opinion of respected players. If a deck showed great performances with a very limited presence in the meta, you can find it in the Silent Performers section. That section highlights decks with an excellent Win Rate, but too little of a sample size to be representative of their real strength.

Decks not good enough to be considered contenders but with a good representation will be ranked in Tier 3 in our chart. See those builds as decks that are good to know about, as you should face them when playing Marvel Snap. However, unless the meta changes or a new variation of the build emerges, these decks are a notch below the dominant ones in Tier 1 and Tier 2.

Silent Performer: Decks with a very little presence in the meta that still showcase a Cube Average and Win Rate worthy of a Tier 2 deck (or better). Oftentimes, these can be archetypes with some nice game play that have been left unchecked in the current environment, or decks on the rise that found a few good match ups to abuse.

Tier 1: Tier 1 represents decks with all the upsides we would be looking for to rack up Cubes. They have good match ups in the current meta, offer different play patterns during a match, and often have the ability for explosive or surprising turns. These should be decks worth investing into in order to climb for the coming week.
Cube Average > 0.6

Tier 2: Tier 2 are very good decks but with a weakness holding them back – either not being as reliable in its draws as Tier 1 decks, countered by another popular deck, or still being a work in progress as you read this. A good pilot could probably take these and have the same results as with a Tier 1 deck, but their play patterns are more difficult to enact compared to the tier above.
Cube Average > 0.3

Tier 3: This tier is made of decks that have a pervasive issue compared to Tier 1 or Tier 2 decks. Usually, Tier 3 will be a mix of decks on the rise that don’t have much data, old archetypes on the decline, decks that require substantial experience and/or knowledge to pilot properly, powerful decks that aren’t well positioned, or niche decks.
Cube Average > 0.1

Budget: Decks that consist only of cards in Pool 1 and 2 that are still capable of competing with an experienced pilot in a similar Collection Level, Rank, and MMR range. See our matchmaking guide for more details.
