The Hot Location for the next 24 hours is Luke's Bar: When you play a card here, return it to your hand. Hot Locations happen every week, starting Sunday at 3 AM GMT. The chosen location has a 60% increased chance of appearing during games. Players who strategically build around the location or counter the decks that do so can have an advantage over their opponents! So what do you play?

Strategy and General Tips

Cards with “On Reveal” effects which can be repeated for value are premium with this location. Ironheart, Silver Surfer, Iceman and can all have massive value at this location. We have to be cautious however if we go too all in and end up continuously re-filling our hand and reducing our draws.

Additionally, some “On Reveal” cards produce extra cards which can be left on the location such as Brood and Mister Sinister. These are important as they will allow you get into the location to try and push power to win the lane.

This leads to the other important point to consider with the decks for this location, can we get into the location to win? Vision, Nightcrawler and Doctor Doom are the most popular cards which can help with this requirement. However, also keep in mind if your hand is full, the card will stay at the location and this is another way to get power into the location.

Therefore, When building your decks you want some repeatable value and ways to land cards in Luke's Bar to win!

The Series 1 deck builds itself. Early on in the game we get some excellent On Reveal cards which can get extra value at this location. Korg, Rocket Racoon and Mister Sinister in particular can easily be played 2 to 3 times. We then transition to Gamora or White Tiger prior to an Odin re-trigger.

Look for added Ironheart value where you can but remember to try to leave her on your eventual Odin lane to double dip later.

Enchantress and Scarlet Witch are our starting tech cards for the location. Scarlet Witch helps us turn off Luke's Bar if we recognise the opponent will get more value than we will and Enchantress is just good right now.

Series 2 is simply building upon Series 1. If you’re playing at this level, there are some clear upgrades you can make to the Series 1 deck, but you’re still locked out of more advanced strategies to abuse the location. This however should be upgradeable with your Series 3 cards to build a solid deck which can get value from the location. Scorpion, Iceman, Vision and Storm come in.

We drop Gamora for Vision for a solid 7 power we can move too Luke's Bar. Storm is simply a better Scarlet Witch during Hot Locations especially if you can put power their later. Scorpion and Iceman also have devastating effects on your opponent’s hand which get better when played 1-3 times!

The aggressive approach to the location without any Series 4 and 5 cards is Patriot. This archetype has multiple cards which can end up in the location and/or send a card across to the location. There are multiple ways to build this one, the featured list though drops Onslaught in favor of going for Patriot into Mystique as the main power push and using Ultron as the finisher.

The other advantage this has is not waiting in hand to be hit by Leech. Mister Sinister and Brood are here to be bounced out of the location leaving cards behind so we don’t have to rely on the 1 drop cards. We may not need both of these though.

Finally, you will notice Iceman and Korg instead of the lower energy No Ability cards such as Misty Knight or Shocker. This is to get early disruption value and they can be buffed later by Ka-Zar.

I would not normally feature a deck like this one as a specific build for the location. This is simply a good counter deck with good cards. However Iceman and Scorpion are excellent into Luke's Bar and the deck can fit Vision to push power.

There are a few meta reasons this one is being featured also. This is more accessible than some decks and it can counter greedy decks which are still out in abundance. Most the Series 3 cards we can replace or swap for other value cards. For example, Doctor Doom can replace Leader. This may be needed as we are starting to see a lot of Series 4 and 5 cards defining the strongest decks and if you’re missing one of them, an option to be able to play the game is required.

If you have Shuri I would drop Leech or White Queen for Shuri to get a big Vision down.

Darkhawk benefits from cards in deck, Ronan benefits from cards in your opponent’s hand. Both these cards can be copied by Mystique These are excellent if we can retrigger effects. Luke's Bar means we can do this without having to enable crazy combinations.

Zabu brings the 4 cost cards down and allows us to play multiple of them also. Darkhawk has already risen in stock due to the arrival of Zabu and potentially will be even stronger during this location.

After Credits

Negative Surfer, Sera Surfer and Galactus decks could all benefit from the location. Galactus can keep the board empty whilst activating Wave, removing the ability for your opponent to Aero your play.

All Silver Surfer decks allow you to trigger Surfer twice during the game, potentially helping you push extra power. The list below plays Zabu and Silver Surfer and may be stronger during the location, try it out!

  1. Important trick – if your hand is full after a card is played at Luke’s Bar, it stays there. So cards like White Queen, Moon Girl, or Nick Fury, can often be played into it directly.

Electro is also huge – bypasses the downside.

  2. Well I was doing that location wrong, I destroyed as quick as possible with rhino, I put Colussus there thinking he would stay because of his no move ability.
