KaZoo

Archetype pages are updated after each Tier List is made. If a page isn’t up-to-date, it means there was nothing worth mentioning in the last report, either because there was no data about the archetype or it did poorly.

A 53.5% Win Rate and 0.2 Cube Average is enough to earn a spot on the report, but barely enough to be considered competitive right now. KaZoo is the textbook example of a deck that needs to mix things up in order to surprise opponents and get those four cube wins.

In the Ranked report, KaZoo only managed to be a Tier 3 deck due to its low Cube Average, but its 57% Win Rate would typically rank in Tier 2 at the very least. In Conquest, however, the Win Rate is even better at around 62%, and Retreating doesn’t let the opponent move on to another match up for a mere cube.

This gives KaZoo many more upsides in Conquest. The archetype can reliably beat low potential decks, and it can disrupt combo archetypes with Cosmo, Kate Bishop, and Silver Sable.

Honestly, it feels like KaZoo might be exclusively a Conquest archetype at the moment.

How to Play

KaZoo is the textbook proactive archetype that wants to make the most out of all its energy each turn. The main plan is to capitalize on Ka-Zar and Blue Marvel to buff as many cards as possible.

Early in your Marvel Snap journey, KaZoo will be one of the most popular decks; it is perfect for a beginner because it is centered around the core resources of the game. Down the line, more flexible or synergistic decks will become available, and KaZoo might disappear from your radar. But, ever since Gilgamesh released, the deck has become a competitive option—even for players with a complete collection.

At the highest level, KaZoo will use its ability to seize priority early in a match to make sure its protective and/or counter cards like Rogue, Caiera, and Red Guardian do their jobs. As for points, the deck will often try to find some explosive patterns by either holding its 1-Costs until the last turn before dumping them all at once, or using Mockingbird to provide a lot of power for cheap. You typically don’t want to reveal where the majority of your points will be until the end of the game, only committing your set up cards that are too expensive to keep in hand for later.

Archetype Evolution Over Time

December 29th Update

  • KaZoo is the textbook example of a deck that needs to mix things up in order to surprise opponents and get those four cube wins. Otherwise, the deck is bound to win one and lose two or four more often than not.

December 22nd Update

  • KaZoo isn’t doing great at the moment, mostly because it is too predictable without developing enough points to make up for that. It is still a great deck for low Collection Levels, though.

November 4th Update

  • KaZoo barely does enough to be competitive, and it looks like an Agent Venom deck without the signature card to propel it to a new dimension.

October 19th Update

  • KaZoo is on the brink of being a very strong deck, but it falls short of posting the same numbers as the Tier 2 archetypes at the moment.

October 13th Update

  • KaZoo is still a great archetype for ranking up to Infinite, but it struggles once it has to go against the top tier decks. Agent Venom gives a lot of decks a great points potential while KaZoo still has to keep the usual threats in mind.

September 30th Update

  • KaZoo is doing its best work in Conquest right now where its ability to leverage priority means Cosmo can make a big impact, as well as having the option to control the Snaps and Retreats. In Ranked, the deck struggles to gain many cubes per match while it has to keep several threats in mind.

September 21st Update

  • KaZoo is still quite popular at all levels of Marvel Snap, but, when looking at the higher ranks, the deck struggles to reliably gain a lot of cubes. Indeed, KaZoo is a well known archetype, so it’s easy to quickly determine if it has a solid hand or not. With this in mind, this archetype needs a very high Win Rate to counterbalance the fact that it won’t typically win more than two cubes. This is the main reason why the archetype was only able to post a Tier 3 performance this week.

September 14th Update

  • Among decks with several hundred matches recorded since the OTA, KaZoo posted the best Win Rate of them all with 59.5%. New synergies are rising, but KaZoo seems able to challenge them well in a points shootout… so far.

September 7th Update

  • KaZoo showed why it is a great archetype for a quick grind back to Infinite this week. It posted a Top 3 performance to open the season.
