Did you know Marvel Snap is available in China, but run on a different scale to its global version? Published and developed separately by NetEase, it has its own Seasons, card stats, variants, and events as it catches up to the global version. It even held its own tournament that gave prize money!

Draft Mode in China
Starting from their next Season they are even getting their own Draft mode – called Infinite Brawl. This is a game mode where players pick cards (booster packs in other card games) and pass it to players next to them to create a deck based on what cards you get passed yourself. Check out the work in progress screenshots below!

Draft Mode in Global
Does it mean we’re getting our own Draft mode here soon? Who knows, but it has been on the Development Roadmap for a while now as being in concept:
As we talked about in the last roadmap, we’re exploring what Draft Mode might look like in MARVEL SNAP. We know there is a passionate audience excited for Draft Mode and curious about our timeline for developing it. So, here’s an inside scoop. We believe SNAP Draft should rely on a trio of pillars:
- Clear and exciting deckbuilding goals
- Fun gameplay that feels unique from constructed
- Highly replayable
SNAP Draft is a tougher nut to crack than it may seem. In its conception, SNAP wasn’t originally designed with drafting in mind. For example, if drafting a Discard deck feels like playing a weaker version of the ‘normal’ Discard deck, that’s not going to be a special experience for our players. To be clear, we’re excited about SNAP Draft. We’re evaluating a wide range of potential solutions–but it will take time to find the best path for translating the core joys of SNAP into a draftable experience worthy of your time, so we appreciate your patience and can’t wait to share more with you when we’re farther along.
Conclusion
Essentially, players should treat Marvel Snap in China as a separate game that may have no bearing on the global version. Due to country laws around games, they have different systems in place, such as the Spotlight system and the ability to refresh the daily variant shop. It is interesting to see how it deals with all the content from over the years differently, such as card balancing.
We’ll now try to report what’s happening over there from time to time!
